Ayushman Bharat: Transforming Healthcare Access Across India

Except for West Bengal, all Indian states and Union Territories have joined the Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), as announced by Union Health Minister J P Nadda to the Lok Sabha.
AB-PMJAY has facilitated hospital admissions valued at Rs 1.26 lakh crore by March 2025. Over 10 lakh Ayushman cards have been issued to frontline health workers. As of March 2024, the scheme includes senior citizens across 4.5 crore families.
The health coverage now spans 1,961 packages, incorporating high-end treatments. A national portal enhances real-time monitoring and fraud detection to bolster implementation efficiency.
