Gujarat Doctors Exploit Clinical Trials for Personal Gain

Fifteen doctors at a civic hospital in Gujarat's Ahmedabad are accused of misappropriating Rs 1.87 crore from clinical trials. Fifteen doctors from a civic hospital in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, have come under fire for allegedly misappropriating Rs 1.87 crore from clinical trials, according to a senior official from the inquiry panel.

The doctors reportedly bypassed established protocols by altering financial distribution clauses in agreements, redirecting funds into their personal accounts rather than the hospital's. This illicit activity spanned over four years and involved 58 clinical trials.

Investigations led by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and a parallel probe by the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) have already resulted in the suspension and termination of several medical professionals associated with the scam.
