Diarrhoea Outbreak in Rajasthan Village Sparks Health Concerns

At least 11 individuals were admitted to a community health centre in Baran district, Rajasthan, after falling ill with diarrhoea over the past 24 hours. Officials allege the outbreak was caused by contaminated drinking water from a borewell situated next to a drain in Phoolbaroda village, local authorities reported on Monday.

Health teams conducted a comprehensive door-to-door survey in the village, which is home to around 800 residents, distributing medicines to those exhibiting symptoms of the illness. The affected patients, aged between 30 and 35, experienced vomiting, though they are now reported to be out of danger, according to Hariom Goyal, a medical officer at the Chhabra community health centre.

The borewell, which supplies water to the village via pipelines, is under suspicion for triggering the diarrhoea outbreak, confirmed Hari Singh Meena, the chief medical officer of the Chipabarod block. Health officials are urgently addressing the situation to prevent further incidents.
