Global Health's Medanta reported a 34% decline in profit after tax for Q3 2025, dropping to Rs 95 crore. Despite a revenue increase, the decline is attributed to hospital depreciation, finance costs, and new Labour Codes impact. Shares grew 0.67% to Rs 1,121.45 on BSE.

Medanta, under Global Health's umbrella, experienced a significant drop in profit after tax for the third quarter of December 2025, falling by 34% to Rs 95 crore. This decline in profitability, contrasted by rising revenues, underscores the complex dynamics affecting the healthcare industry.

Despite an uptick in revenue, which rose to Rs 1,121 crore from Rs 943 crore last year, the company encountered several financial burdens. The depreciation and finance costs associated with their Noida hospital, paired with initial operating losses, notably impacted their financial performance. A peculiar challenge arose from the new Labour Codes, which contributed an additional Rs 37 crore as exceptional items affecting post-tax profits.

In the stock market, Global Health's shares concluded Wednesday with a 0.67% increase, reaching Rs 1,121.45 on the BSE. This reflects investor confidence despite the reported challenges, indicating a nuanced view of the company's potential amid the present financial setbacks.
