Postponed Meeting of The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force Highlights Health Policy Delays
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force's March meeting has been postponed. This group, responsible for recommending covered cancer screenings and preventive health measures, faced cancellations in 2025 due to a government shutdown. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services plans to reschedule in the coming months.
The March meeting of the U.S. advisory panel tasked with determining mandatory cancer screenings and other preventive health measures coverage has been postponed.
This decision follows the pattern of disrupted schedules due to a government shutdown in 2025, which affected previous meetings planned for July and November.
According to an email from HHS spokesman Andrew Nixon, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, consisting of 16 members, aims to reschedule the meeting in the upcoming months.
