A startling revelation from a recent government survey indicates that more than two-fifths of British businesses have experienced a cyber breach or attack in the past year, maintaining consistency with the previous year’s figures.

The Cyber Security Breaches Survey disclosed that approximately 612,000 businesses reported being targeted in 2025/26, with phishing attacks being the most recurrent, affecting 38% of those businesses.
