The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is initiating a comprehensive death audit to enhance the quality of healthcare in the region, according to a statement released on Tuesday. Commissioner Kailash Shinde emphasized the importance of planned improvements after evaluating current municipal health services.
The civic body will conduct regular assessments of services at all facilities, from primary health centres to public hospitals, as advised by Commissioner Shinde. He stressed the necessity of thoroughly analyzing birth and death rates over the past three years to help reduce mortality rates.
This initiative involves the active verification of data from the city's 26 primary health centres and includes plans for widespread vaccination drives and health screenings. Local corporators will be engaged to ensure comprehensive community participation in these health efforts, according to NMMC officials.
