DS Group takes Catch sprinkler to new age seasonings, regional flavours

Dharampal Satyapal Group (DS Group) on Thursday announced expansion of its Catch Salt and Spices into new-age seasonings and regionally inspired flavours. Expanding sprinkler portfolio, DS Group, which operates in FMCG and other businesses, aims to target the experimental and convenience-seeking consumer, a statement by the Noida-based company said. With Catch, DS Group is the third largest player in the packaged spiced market segment. It also leads in the new-age retail platforms, such as e-commerce and hyperlocal delivery platform quick-commerce. Catch spices, which recorded a healthy double-digit growth, have added contemporary variants, such as pizza, pasta seasoning, chilli flakes, oregano, magic masala and mixed herbs, along with regional offerings like Jeeravan (Poha Masala) and Podi Masala. ''With this move, the company is extending the sprinkler format into a wider seasoning platform designed for today's increasingly experimental and convenience-seeking consumer pan India,'' it said. Commenting on the development, Catch Salt & Spices Business Head Sandeep Ghosh said, ''The expansion of the Catch sprinkler range is a step towards building a more contemporary and versatile seasoning portfolio that blends national trends with strong regional relevance. As demand grows, DS Group is focused on scaling accessible formats, he added. The Catch brand was introduced by DS Group in 1987. It was the first table-top Salt sprinkler and the brand, which is now available in various categories with more than 140 variants and 330 SKUs. Founded in 1929, the DS Group has a presence in food and beverage, confectionery, mouth freshener, hospitality, agri, and luxury retail businesses, among others. It owns many brands, including Catch, Pulse, Pass Pass, Silver Pearls, Ksheer, Rajnigandha, Ovino, L'Opera, Le Marche, Birthright, LuvIt, Chingles, and Golmol, among others.
