Cosmic Carabao Gin to be seized by Philippine authorities due to 'methanol' presence

Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the Philippines has reportedly ordered seizure and confiscation of alcoholic beverage "Cosmic Carabao Gin" after it tested positive for high levels of methanol. FDA has also advised people not to consume the beverage.

According to the notice being circulated on social media and purportedly issued by the FDA, methanol can be dangerous for health.
Consumption of methanol can severely impact eyesight, decreased vision may start as early as twelve hours after exposure. Long term outcomes may include blindness and kidney failure. Even a small amount of methanol can result in death, according to Wikipedia.
