Moldova PM seeks state of emergency to contain coronavirus spread

Moldova's Prime Minister Ion Chicu asked the parliament on Tuesday to impose state of emergency across the country in a bid to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Moldova, a nation of 3.5 million, has reported 29 confirmed coronavirus cases with no deaths recorded as of March 17.

The country has already temporarily shut its borders and suspended all international flights from March 17.
