Explosion at Jamshoro Police Station Injures Six

An accidental explosion at Jamshoro Police Station's evidence lockup on Wednesday injured six individuals. The blast, caused by old hand grenades, significantly damaged the station. Two critically injured were transferred to Civil Hospital Hyderabad for treatment.

An accidental explosion occurred at the Jamshoro Police Station's evidence lockup on Wednesday, resulting in injuries to five policemen and one suspect. According to a report by Dawn, the blast was caused by old hand grenades stored in the warehouse, which detonated due to intense heat conditions. Hyderabad Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Tariq Razzak Dharejo confirmed that no act of terrorism was involved.

DIG Dharejo provided further details on the injured, stating, 'Four of our officers are on respirators. Two of them are being sent to Aga Khan Hospital for treatment as their condition is severe.' The injured were identified as head constable Mohammad Bux, ASIs Rasool Bux and Ghulam Moiuddin, constables Irshad and Ali Abdul Taif, and a suspect named Jamshed present at the time of the explosion, according to Dawn.

Meanwhile, Jamshoro's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tariq Nawaz reported that two critically injured individuals were referred to the Civil Hospital in Hyderabad. He noted that the explosion caused substantial damage to the police station, destroying walls and vehicles within the premises. The bomb disposal squad has since sealed the site and is examining the evidence.

DIG Hyderabad and SSP Nawaz have been tasked with ensuring the injured receive necessary medical care. Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hussain Lanjar, briefed by IGP Sindh and DIG Hyderabad, was updated about the incident. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also arrived in Hyderabad for a briefing from DIG Dharejo, as reported by Dawn.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has instructed both the Sindh Home Minister and the Sindh Health Secretary to provide all available medical facilities to the injured police officials.
