Republican candidate for North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction, Michelle Morrow, praised former President Donald Trump, saying he has 'our best interests at heart.' Her comments came during the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee, where Trump made his first appearance following an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania.

Morrow noted the heightened enthusiasm and unity at the RNC, especially after the recent incident. 'There's so much enthusiasm. There's so much hope here in Milwaukee,' she said. 'We all are concerned about the direction of our country, and we know that President Trump has our best interests at heart.'

Saturday’s attempt on Trump’s life occurred during a Pennsylvania campaign rally, where gunfire erupted, killing one attendee and injuring two others. The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed by Secret Service agents. The FBI is investigating the incident.

Morrow emphasized that the event has unified Republicans. 'I'm hoping it's a new birth, not only for our party but for the entire country,' she said. The RNC has featured high-profile speakers and themed nights focused on economic and national security.

Morrow also remarked on Trump's respect for India, noting his good relationship with India's leaders. 'Trump respects India's culture and values leaders who put their people first,' she said. She also praised JD Vance's wife, Usha Chilukuri Vance, for her strong ties to Indian values and culture.

Blake, a delegate from California, expressed his support for Trump due to his strong stance on border security. 'The brick suit is a metaphor for a border wall,' he explained. Israeli-Americans also showed support for Trump outside the RNC, holding placards that read, 'We are Jews for Trump.'

The event also touched on international issues, including the escalating conflict in Gaza following an October 7 attack by Hamas. Israel has intensified its offensive against Hamas, aiming to dismantle the terrorist group while minimizing civilian casualties.
