Islamabad's district and sessions court has sanctioned a two-day physical remand for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary, Raoof Hasan. This decision, reported by ARY News, was made on Tuesday after Hasan's presentation in court, where the Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) prosecutor argued for physical remand to recover allegedly used gadgets for anti-state activities.
During the court session, the FIA prosecutor indicated that the case might justify a 30-day physical remand, but recommended a 10-day remand to empower the investigating agency. However, Hasan's lawyer, Latif Khosa, opposed this request, according to ARY News.
In a related development, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan and Information Secretary Raoof Hasan were detained by Islamabad police at the PTI Secretariat in Section G-8. Reportedly, the raid, based on credible information, targeted the PTI's digital media center, purportedly a hub for international disinformation. Computers and documents seized are currently undergoing scrutiny as part of the investigation.
