Makran University Students Protest Lack of Basic Facilities

Among their complaints was the unavailability of cold drinking water on campus, forcing them to buy water from outside. They also criticized the university's failure to run generators during power outages, which is particularly problematic during the extreme heat of summer months.

Other issues included the absence of projectors in classrooms, substandard canteen facilities, and lack of proper motorcycle parking. Students also reported frequent breaches in security as outsiders enter the premises unchecked. Despite multiple complaints, the administration has not taken any action, and students claim they have been threatened into silence.

The students called on the Governor of Balochistan to address these issues urgently. Education infrastructure in Pakistan faces numerous challenges, contributing to overcrowded classrooms and high student-to-teacher ratios, particularly in rural areas.

In many cases, schools are in poor condition, with unsafe, dilapidated buildings posing risks to students and staff alike.
