S Jaishankar Bids Farewell to Israel's Ambassador Naor Gilon, Highlights Strengthened India-Israel Ties

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with outgoing Israeli Ambassador Naor Gilon on Monday, expressing gratitude for his role in enhancing bilateral ties. 'Pleased to receive Israeli Ambassador Naor Gilon for a farewell call. Thank him for strengthening India-Israel relations,' Jaishankar posted on X.
In June, Israel's Embassy in India hosted a farewell dinner for Gilon, Deputy Chief of Mission Ohad Nakash Kaynar, and Political Counsellor Hagar Spiro-Tal. Gilon called representing Israel in India an 'honor' and highlighted the 'unique' bond between the nations.
Gilon said, 'It has been an honor to represent Israel in this incredible country. The bond between Israel and India is unique, built on shared values and mutual respect. I am filled with gratitude for the warmth and friendship extended to us by the people of India.'
He added, 'Together, we have achieved remarkable milestones and forged an unbreakable bond. I will always cherish the friendships, warmth, and profound respect for India's heritage and its people. A part of our hearts will remain forever in India.'
Kaynar and Spiro-Tal also noted significant achievements in diplomatic, economic, and cultural exchanges. They will depart India this month upon completing their tenures.
Israel's Embassy in India stated, 'The Embassy remains committed to enhancing people-to-people and bilateral relations while exploring new cooperation avenues in technology, agriculture, education, and more. The departing diplomats leave a legacy of strengthened ties and a roadmap for continued collaboration.'
