Iran Criticizes Western Nations Over Israel Crisis
Iran has criticized Western nations for not taking effective measures against Israel's actions in Palestine. Iranian spokesperson Nasser Kanaani refuted Western calls to de-escalate tensions with Israel, calling their stance illogical and supportive of Israeli crimes.
A day after Western countries urged Iran to halt its threats of military action against Israel, Iran responded, accusing them of inactivity in addressing the Middle East crisis. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani emphasized the lack of practical measures from Western nations.
On August 12, leaders from France, Germany, and the UK urged Iran to retract threats against Israel, warning of serious regional security consequences. Kanaani criticized the Western nations for their indifference toward Israel's alleged crimes against Palestinians, including genocide and war crimes.
Labeling Israel's actions as shameless and offensive, Kanaani condemned the UN and the UN Security Council for failing to act against Israel. He cited the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza and accused Western countries of ignoring the geopolitical crisis while supporting Israel.
Kanaani derided the Western demands for Iran to abstain from countermeasures against Israel, which he claimed violated Iran’s sovereignty. He argued that such demands lack political logic and contradict international law principles.
Describing the Western stance as support for international crimes and terrorism, Kanaani urged these countries to oppose Israel's aggression and halt violence against Palestinians. He asserted Iran's commitment to defend its sovereignty, ensure regional stability, and counteract threats without seeking external approval.
Kanaani held Western governments and the UN Security Council responsible for the crisis's spread due to their support for Israel. He noted that this backing enables Israel's unrestricted actions in Gaza and West Asia.
