Abu Dhabi [UAE], August 18 (ANI/WAM): International delegations from the UAE, USA, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Nations, and the African Union convened in Switzerland, issued a joint statement concerning Sudan. They praised the Sovereign Council of Sudan's resolution to open the Adre border crossing from Chad into North Darfur for three months.
Furthermore, they welcomed the Rapid Support Forces' commitment to facilitating humanitarian deliveries via the essential Dabbah route to Darfur and Kordofan, and their pledge to protect aid workers. These actions are expected to open up corridors crucial for addressing food insecurity and famine in the region.
The delegations called for immediate communication and coordination between the involved parties and humanitarian agencies to ensure efficient and unhindered aid distribution. They urged the international community to make the most of this opportunity to assist those in dire need. The collaborative efforts of the delegations continue today in Switzerland.
