Nangsoq village, mere kilometers from Skardu, exemplifies the struggle for basic amenities, with locals continually let down by the administration despite numerous appeals for improvement.

Villages surrounding Skardu in Pakistan-occupied Gilgit Baltistan are facing severe hardships due to a lack of essential infrastructure and basic amenities. Nangsoq, a village just a few kilometers from Skardu, epitomizes the area's deprivation. Local news outlet Skardu TV revealed the villagers' plight.

Despite being promoted as an organic village, Nangsoq suffers from inadequate roads, education, clean water, and electricity. Village elder Gulam Hassan lamented the myriad issues affecting the community, highlighting an unfinished school and the lack of healthcare facilities. According to Hassan, some families have been forced to leave due to these shortages.

Hassan further noted his struggles in managing the primary education of the village children, often teaching them himself in the absence of qualified teachers. Requests for a teacher and government dispensaries have gone unanswered, reflecting broader administrative failures. Hassan fears that by the time a hospital is constructed, many lives will have already been lost.
