In a powerful show of support at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday, stating that the 'future is here.' Clinton emphasized that both her mother and Harris's mother would have encouraged them to continue their political endeavors.

Clinton reflected on her historic 2016 presidential campaign, where she received nearly 66 million votes, advocating for a future without limitations. She commended the resilience of Americans who continued to strive for a better future through marches and running for office.

The crowd warmly received Clinton with cheers and chants of 'Keep going,' acknowledging her significant contributions to the Democratic Party and her influence as the only other woman to have contested Donald Trump in a general election.

Clinton gave accolades to President Joe Biden, praising him for restoring dignity, decency, and competence to the White House. She described him as a 'true patriot' and a defender of democracy both locally and internationally.

The convention, themed around a forward-looking vision, featured Clinton among a roster of distinguished speakers. Former President Barack Obama was slated to speak on Tuesday about 'A Bold Vision for the Future,' while ex-President Bill Clinton and Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi were scheduled to address the theme 'A Fight for Freedom' on Wednesday.

Additional speeches throughout the week included remarks from Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. Harris’s running mate, Mike Waltz, was expected to formally accept the vice-presidential nomination on Wednesday, paving the way for Harris to accept the presidential nomination on Thursday, under the theme 'For the Future.'
