In a tragic incident east of Vicksburg, Mississippi, seven people lost their lives and dozens were injured when a commercial passenger bus overturned on the westbound Interstate 20, authorities reported.

Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey confirmed that the deceased included two siblings, aged six and sixteen. The 2018 Volvo bus was carrying 37 passengers who were rushed to hospitals in Vicksburg and Jackson with varying degrees of injuries.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace described the situation as particularly tragic due to the high number of fatalities and injuries. An investigation into the cause of the crash has been initiated, according to officials. Eyewitness and tow truck driver Keith Allison reported that many passengers were moved out of the bus, which had ended up in a ditch.
