PM Modi and Singapore's PM Wong Unanimously Condemn Terrorism, Strengthen Bilateral Ties
During PM Modi's official visit to Singapore, both he and PM Wong reinforced their commitment to combating terrorism. The leaders celebrated their nations' strong ties and agreed to elevate bilateral relations to a 'Comprehensive Strategic Partnership'.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Singaporean counterpart, PM Lawrence Wong, have condemned terrorism as a major threat to global peace, pledging to combat it comprehensively. Both leaders emphasized that there can be no justification for terror acts.
During Modi's official visit to Singapore on September 4-5, 2024, his fifth trip to the city-state, they highlighted the need for renewed multilateral action against terrorism and stressed the importance of adhering to international standards on anti-money laundering in line with FATF recommendations.
Lauding the cooperation at regional and international levels, the Prime Ministers reaffirmed their determination to promote peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific. Modi expressed gratitude for Wong's hospitality and invited him to visit India. Both countries plan to elevate their relationship to a 'Comprehensive Strategic Partnership' as they celebrate 60 years of diplomatic ties next year.
