Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled's Landmark Visit to India

Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will visit India on September 9-10 at PM Modi's invitation. His visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations and explore new collaboration avenues. The Crown Prince will also visit Mumbai for a business forum.

Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is set to embark on an official visit to India from September 9-10, following an invitation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This marks his inaugural visit to India as the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.

The visit will see the Crown Prince accompanied by several UAE ministers and a business delegation, the Ministry of External Affairs confirmed on Saturday. Scheduled engagements include discussions with Prime Minister Modi on various bilateral issues and a meeting with President Droupadi Murmu on September 9.

During his visit, Sheikh Khaled will pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. The itinerary also includes a trip to Mumbai on September 10 to participate in a Business Forum attended by business leaders from both nations.

The Ministry emphasized the historically close and friendly ties between India and the UAE, underpinned by the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership that spans politics, trade, investment, energy, technology, education, and culture. The Crown Prince's visit is expected to further strengthen these ties and explore new areas of cooperation.

In February, Prime Minister Modi visited the UAE, holding discussions with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on enhancing bilateral relations. During the visit, eight agreements were signed, including a Memorandum of Understanding to create an intergovernmental framework for the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC).

The leaders also noted the significant growth in UAE-India trade relations since the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) came into effect. Modi inaugurated the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) Mandir, the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi, and addressed the Indian diaspora at an event titled 'Ahlan Modi'.
