Reuven Azar, Israel's envoy to India, emphasized Israel's strategic interactions with China and India, describing China as a valuable source for manufacturing capabilities. In a conversation with ANI, Azar noted that Israel, which primarily exports services, seeks to expand its market in India.
When asked about potential investments in India, Azar clarified that Israel's relationship with China focused on leveraging manufacturing capabilities for exporting finished goods to Israel. He stressed that Israel, driven by a knowledge-based economy, develops intellectual property and patents, which are then produced in other countries.
Azar highlighted the deep-rooted historic and cultural bonds between Israel and India, driven by shared principles of freedom, moderation, and acceptance. He praised the leadership of Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Benjamin Netanyahu for enhancing bilateral ties and announced Israel's aim to boost regional stability in the Middle East.
He stressed the collaborative efforts to combat extremism and the significance of India's increasing global influence. Azar expressed optimism about India's strategic role in regional affairs, including conflict resolution and enhancing connectivity between East and West through initiatives with the UAE.
Azar reaffirmed Israel's commitment to the partnerships forged under the Abraham Accords, aiming for future prosperity and stability. He acknowledged India's pivotal role in international collaborations, particularly evident in initiatives announced during the G20 summit spearheaded by President Biden.
