PM Modi Champions Safe Digital Infrastructure at UN Summit

At the UN's 'Summit of the Future,' PM Modi emphasized the need for balanced digital regulation and promoted India's Digital Public Infrastructure as a model for global good. Highlighting emerging conflicts in cyber, maritime, and space, he called for global cohesion against terrorism and other threats.

During the 'Summit of the Future' at the 79th UN General Assembly session in New York, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the importance of safe and responsible use of technology. He asserted that Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) should function as a bridge rather than a barrier.

Addressing the summit, PM Modi stated, 'For safe and responsible use of technology, balanced regulation is needed. We want global digital governance that maintains sovereignty and integrity.' He also offered India's DPI systems for global good, reiterating his 'One Earth, One Family, One Future' commitment.

The Quad nations emphasized that DPI plays a crucial role in creating a secure, reliable, and interoperable digital ecosystem. They advocated for core principles such as inclusivity, security, human rights protection, and sustainable development in DPI. PM Modi also pointed out emerging conflicts in cyber, maritime, and space domains, calling for global efforts in these areas to match collective ambitions. Terrorism remains a significant threat, and Modi called for unified global action against it.
