PTI Threatens Protest Over Senate Vote Amidst Constitutional Amendment Drama

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, under the leadership of Imran Khan, has announced its decision to abstain from the upcoming voting on constitutional amendments in both the National Assembly and the Senate. In an official statement, the PTI Political Committee emphasized the illegitimacy of the current ruling government in making constitutional changes.

The committee has also warned of peaceful protests targeting the homes of any party members who disregard the leadership's directives. Concerns have been raised about Senators Zarqa Taimur and Faisal Saleem, who are rumored to vote contrary to the party's official stance.

Concurrently, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar informed the media about impending discussions on the constitutional package with the federal cabinet. This development follows extensive negotiations involving leaders like JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and various political figureheads.
