Organized by a coalition of Hindu and Sikh communities, the protest aimed to unify voices against what they perceive as a series of targeted attacks. Jitender Singh Shunty, President of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sewa Dal, signaled growing concerns over incidents targeting their communities.
In his address, Marwah condemned the introduction of drugs and the attempt to disrupt community unity through forced religious conversions. He denounced the attacks on temples and underscored the solidarity within India's Sikh community against separatist ideologies, affirming loyalty to the nation and rejecting Khalistan.
Amid rising diplomatic tensions, Canada accused India of involvement in the death of Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun—a claim India rebutted as 'absurd'. The situation escalated as Canada identified Indian diplomats as 'persons of interest,' prompting India's strong diplomatic objection.
