PM Modi Honors Marseille's Role in India's Freedom Struggle

Prime Minister Narendra Modi commemorated Marseille for its historical significance in India's freedom movement, recalling Veer Savarkar's daring escape attempt. Modi, alongside French President Macron, engaged in various events, reinforcing India-France ties through economic and strategic partnerships, culminating in discussions on AI during a significant summit.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, upon his arrival in Marseille, honored the city's role in India's fight for independence, highlighting Veer Savarkar's bold escape attempt from British custody. Modi expressed gratitude towards the French supporters who aided Savarkar during this period of crisis.

Modi, along with French President Emmanuel Macron, visited Marseille ahead of engagements aimed at strengthening ties. Their itinerary included a visit to the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project and the Mazargues War Cemetery to pay homage to Indian soldiers fallen in the World Wars.

During his visit, PM Modi participated in the India-France CEO Forum in Paris, stressing the collaboration's vital role in economic growth and innovation. Modi also highlighted shared democratic values and trust, asserting that India and France are addressing global challenges together. Additionally, Modi co-chaired the AI Action Summit in Paris, drawing participation from global leaders and industry experts.
