India's Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri, has reiterated the nation's commitment to addressing issues with China through direct bilateral dialogue, eschewing the need for external mediation. In response to a potential offer from the United States, Misri stated that India prefers to handle disputes with its neighbors through direct communication, particularly with China.
During a press briefing on Thursday, following a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump, Misri affirmed India's long-standing preference for a bilateral approach, highlighting that the same principle applies to dealings with China. He cited ongoing discussions between the two countries as a testament to this policy.
