Union Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted the growing strength of India-US relations, crediting the personal camaraderie between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump as a catalyst for deeper bilateral ties. Goyal addressed journalists at the Asia Economic Dialogue, stressing the significance of collaboration in various sectors, including investment, business, technology, and defense.
Further, Goyal targeted the Congress party, particularly senior leader Sam Pitroda, for their alleged pro-China sentiments. The BJP leader criticized Congress for prioritizing foreign affiliations over national interests, following Pitroda's comments that were seen as favorable to Beijing. Congress has since distanced itself from these remarks.
Goyal celebrated the Bharatiya Janata Party's recent electoral victories in Haryana, Maharashtra, and Delhi, dismissing skeptics of the BJP's and Modi's popularity. He voiced strong support for Delhi's newly elected Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, asserting her leadership will enhance Delhi's development, contributing to a stronger nation.
