Kash Patel, recently appointed as the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), emphasized his Indian origins and the vast opportunities presented by the 'American Dream' during his swearing-in ceremony on Friday. Patel, in a notable moment, took the oath on the Bhagavad Gita, with his girlfriend and family standing beside him.
In his address after the swearing-in, Patel, reflecting on his journey, stated, "Anyone who thinks the American Dream is dead, look right here. You're talking to a first-generation Indian kid who is about to lead the law enforcement community in the greatest nation on God's Earth." Considered a testament to the idea that success can be achieved through hard work, the 'American Dream' formed a key part of Patel's narrative.
Patel promised to instill accountability within and beyond the FBI. Highlighting his point, he said that constitutional oversight would start immediately. He also took a swipe at American media, claiming to be their 'target' and criticized the 'fake, malicious, slanderous, and defamatory' content purportedly written about him.
"I know the media is in here. If you have a target, that target is right here," Patel said, pointing to himself. Continuing, he asserted that the focus should not be on the men and women of the FBI as they deserve more respect. Observing the alarming rise in crime rates, Patel emphasized that his administration would undertake decisive actions to combat these issues.
Patel expressed concern over the alarming statistics of crime, including rapes, overdoses due to CCP Fentanyl, and homicides. He stated, "We cannot have the United States of America where these numbers are acceptable." He warned that the FBI would take decisive action against any threats to Americans, signifying a robust approach to enforcement.
In a show of support, U.S. President Donald Trump commended Patel, stating his belief that Patel would be remembered as the best FBI Director in history. Following the ceremony, Patel paid homage to the Wall of Honor, recognizing the sacrifices made by former FBI agents in service to the country.
Yash Patel, a distant relative from Patel's ancestral village in Gujarat, voiced the happiness of the entire community, noting it as a matter of pride seeing someone from their village reach such a distinguished position. His words echoed the sentiments of many, celebrating a remarkable achievement. (ANI)
