In a significant diplomatic engagement, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has called for deepening cooperation between India and Bahrain across new and emerging sectors. Speaking at the 5th India-Bahrain High Joint Commission meeting in New Delhi, Jaishankar stressed the potential for collaboration in areas like space, fintech, and technology.

The meeting with Bahrain's Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani also highlighted India's unwavering support for the Gaza Peace Plan, aiming for a durable resolution in the region. Jaishankar noted the robust bilateral progress achieved in defense, trade, healthcare, and culture since their last GCC meeting, encouraging Bahraini investors to seize opportunities in India.

Strengthening bilateral ties further, both nations have initiated healthcare and cultural collaborations, and bolstered cooperation between space agencies. The introduction of an e-visa system for Bahraini visitors exemplifies growing diplomatic ties. Additionally, Jaishankar expressed gratitude for Bahrain's welfare support to the Indian diaspora and expressed optimism for enhanced future collaborations.
