Rail services connecting Quetta with the rest of Pakistan were briefly interrupted Monday after unidentified individuals detonated explosives on a railway track near Dera Murad Jamali. According to police reports, the two-foot section of track was damaged by approximately three kilograms of explosives, orchestrated via remote control.

Law enforcement agencies swiftly arrived at the scene following the incident to launch investigations. This attack is the latest in a disturbing series targeting Pakistan's rail infrastructure. Similar incidents have occurred in recent years, including a Peshawar-bound Jaffar Express ambush in 2025, and other explosive attacks targeting passenger trains and tracks.

Such acts of sabotage have frequently been attributed to banned militant groups, notably the Balochistan Liberation Army and Baloch Republican Guards. These attacks raise alarming questions regarding the security of rail travel in the region, amidst ongoing threats that continue to challenge local authorities.
