In a pivotal gathering in Bradford, the United Kashmir People's National Party (UKPNP) orchestrated a conference that sharply critiqued Pakistan's governance over Pakistan-occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK). Highlighting issues of political dominance, economic abandonment, and civic division, speakers underscored how these factors are exacerbating regional unrest and undermining democracy.

The conference attracted diverse stakeholders, including the Kashmiri diaspora and international delegates, who voiced strong opposition to the subdivision of Jammu and Kashmir. Emphasis was placed on past administrative modifications, which have fueled discontent in PoJK and Gilgit-Baltistan (PoGB), rather than addressing persisting issues.

Sardar Shaukat Ali Kashmiri, UKPNP Chairman, warned against Pakistan's tight grip over PoJK's governance, curtailing fiscal and self-governance rights. Participants urged Pakistan to engage in meaningful political dialogue, stressing the need to uphold human rights, including freedom of expression and assembly.
