Jacob Helberg, the United States Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment, praised India's accession to the Pax Silica Declaration during an address on Thursday. He emphasized that this move highlights the crucial connection between economic security and national security, while resisting coercive tactics that threaten global prosperity.
Addressing the Pax Silica gathering, Helberg stated, "Today, as we sign the Pax Silica declaration, we reject weaponized dependency and affirm that economic security is national security." He added, "We are creating a foundational supply chain architecture for prosperity, leveraging AI to unlock unprecedented potential."
Helberg commended US Ambassador Sergio Gor for enhancing US-India relations, underscoring the significance Washington attributes to its alliance with New Delhi. The announcement coincided with India formally joining Pax Silica, the US initiative focused on AI and supply chain security, at the Global AI Impact Summit in New Delhi.
