LeBron (groin), Giannis (ankle) to sit out Tuesday's matchup
Two of the NBA's biggest stars will not play Tuesday night when the Los Angeles Lakers visit the Milwaukee Bucks. LeBron James is out for the Lakers due to a sore left groin, the team announced Tuesday morning. The Bucks later announced that Giannis Antetokounmpo would sit because of a right ankle sprain.
Head coach Luke Walton's rotation against the Bucks could be shortened by additional injuries. The Lakers ruled out Lance Stephenson -- he's dealing with a toe injury -- on Tuesday. Guard Josh Hart is questionable with knee soreness and center Tyson Chandler (neck) is probable.
It's a similar story for Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer. Milwaukee recently lost Malcolm Brogdon to a plantar fascia tear in his right foot, and the team said it will be without Sterling Brown (wrist), Donte DiVincenzo (heel) and Pau Gasol (undisclosed) on Tuesday night.
James is averaging 27.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game this season but has played in only 51 of the Lakers' 70 games. He scored 33 points in 35 minutes in a loss to the New York Knicks on Sunday. Antetokounmpo is a leading candidate to be the NBA's Most Valuable Player, averaging 27.5 points, 12.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game.
