Malian PM resigns over surge of violence
\R Bamako, Apr 19 (AFP) Mali's prime minister offered his resignation Thursday following a motion of no confidence in his government over its handling of violence in the centre of the country, according to the presidency.
A statement from President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita's office said he had accepted Soumeylou Boubeye Maiga's resignation, which comes after months of protests over the wave of violence. (AFP)
