With 6.8% rise in imports, South Africa sees deficit in trade balance

South Africa recorded a trade balance deficit of 3.43 billion rands in April from a revised 4.71 billion and surplus in March, data from the revenue service showed on Friday.

Exports fell 1.3% on a month-on-month basis to 103.75 billion rands ($7.06 billion) in April, while imports rose 6.8% to 107.18 billion rands, the South African Revenue Service said.
