Danish Social Democrats agree to form new government

The leader of Denmark's Social Democrats said on Wednesday her Social Democratic party had agreed with its leftist supporting allies to form a new one-party government, public broadcasters DR and TV2 reported.

A bloc of five left-leaning opposition parties led by 41-year-old Mette Frederiksen's Social Democratic party won a majority in a June 5 vote, prompting centre-right leader Lars Lokke Rasmussen to resign as prime minister.
