The mechanism for compensating oil companies hit by Russian contaminated oil will be the same for oil producers, Russian oil pipeline monopoly is quoted as saying by RIA news agency on Wednesday.
Industry sources said on Wednesday that Russia has agreed to pay Kazakhstan a fixed per-barrel rate of compensation for tainted oil.
Russian oil flows have been contaminated with chemicals along several transit routes since the end of April.
