In an exclusive interview with French weekly magazine Le Point, Chinese tech giant Huawei CEO Ren Zhengfei has claimed that its in-house Hongmeng OS is possibly faster than Google's Android and Apple's macOS, as well, as reported by multiple media outlets.

Moreover, the OS can also work on other devices, other than smartphones, such as routers, data centers, printed circuit boards, network switches, tablets, PCs, etc. It offers a processing delay of less than 5 milliseconds and has been built to connect all objects simultaneously, Zhengfei told.

Huawei has been facing intense pressure from the United States as the latter has accused it of stealing American intellectual property and violating Iran sanctions. It has launched a lobbying effort to convince U.S. allies to keep Huawei out of next-generation 5G telecommunications infrastructure, citing concerns the company could spy on customers. Huawei has denied the allegations.
