Fake Indian notes worth Rs 5 lakh seized in Kolkata

The Special Task Force (STF) unit of the Kolkata Police Monday seized Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) of the face value of Rs 5 lakh and arrested one person from the city's Esplanade area in this connection, police said.

The FICN, all in Rs 2,000 denomination, were seized from the possession of the person identified as Majibur SK, a resident of Malda district, the police official said.

The accused was prosecuted and will be produced at a city court tomorrow, the officer said.
