The Mumbai Zonal Unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has seized 1.17 kg of charas from Navi Mumbai and arrested a man, an official said on Wednesday. It also recovered Rs 40.45 lakh in cash and 970 grams of gold from his possession, said an NCB official.
The agency got a tip-off that one M Khan, resident of Kharghar in Navi Mumbai, was operating a drug trading racket from his shop in Kalyan Shilphata area, he said.
On Tuesday, an NCB team detained Khan and recovered 1.1 kg of charas from his shop and godowns and another 70 gm of charas from his house, worth Rs 2.5 lakh in total, besides cash and gold, the official said. Further investigation is underway, he said.
