Macron: ongoing dialogue between government and unions over pension reform

The French government has a dialogue ongoing with trade unions over plans to change the pension system and raise the retirement age, said President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday, as he faces widespread protests against the planned reform.

"There are challenges to it, but that does not mean that we should stop," added Macron, who has consistently said he plans to press ahead with the changes to the retirement system.
