U.S. has not heard China's direct reaction to G7 statements - senior official

The United States has not heard any reaction directly from China to the Group of Seven (G7) leaders' statements, a senior administration official said on Sunday.

G7 leaders are wrapping up the three-day summit in Hiroshima, Japan, after outlining a shared approach to "de-risk, not decouple" economic engagement with China in a Saturday communique.

The Chinese foreign ministry said Beijing firmly opposed the G7 joint statement and had complained to summit organiser Japan, while its embassy in Japan urged G7 to stop creating confrontation and division in a separate statement.
