Owners of firecracker stalls booked for violating norms
Police have registered 11 cases against owners of firecracker stalls for violating norms, an official said Thursday.
The violations range from the stalls occupying public space to using cloth and wood to erect these makeshift structures to not following terms and conditions mentioned in the permits, a Palghar police official said.
In a statement issued Thursday, Palghar police spokesperson Hemant Katkar said these offences have been registered at Vasai, Valiv and Manickpur police stations under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Explosives Act and the Bombay Police Act.
Firecrackers worth Rs 85,000 were also seized in police raids, he added.
