1 dead, four injured in clash over old dispute in UP's Bijnor

One person was killed and four more were injured in a violent clash between two brothers over an old dispute in a village here, police said on Thursday.

Jaikaran and Nepal of Ahraula village under the Chandpur police station area had a dispute over some issues, Additional Superintendent of Police Ram Arj said.

Recently, the power department carried out a raid on Nepal's house, for which he blamed Jaikaran, leading to the clash between the two, Arj said.

They were joined by other people as well and the clash took a violent turn, he added.

Five people were injured in total, and one of them, Saurabh (28), died during treatment, the official said.

Police have registered a case under relevant sections and one arrest has been made, he added.
