Man arrested for sodomising 7-year-old boy in UP village

Tyagi said a case has been registered against the accused under Indian Penal Code section 377 sodomy and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The boy has been sent for medical examination, he added.

A seven-year-old boy has been allegedly sodomised by a labourer at a village in the New Mandi area here in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place on Tuesday evening, New Mandi Station House Officer (SHO) Santosh Kumar Tyagi said and added that a 26-year-old man has been arrested. The victim was the son of a brick kiln worker and the accused also worked there, police said. Tyagi said a case has been registered against the accused under Indian Penal Code section 377 (sodomy) and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The boy has been sent for medical examination, he added.
