Germany's Scholz holds video call with China's Xi - spokesperson

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke with Chinese President Xi in a video conference on Friday, a German government spokesperson said.
The leaders discussed economic cooperation, as well as the Hamas attack on Israel and the situation in the region, the spokesperson said in a statement.
Scholz and Xi also discussed the war in Ukraine. The talk served to stress that nuclear war must not happen there and cannot be won, according to the statement.
