Bank of Israel chief Yaron given second five-year term

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich have agreed to a second term for Bank of Israel Governor Amir Yaron, they said in a joint statement on Monday.

Yaron's five-year term was set to finish at the end of 2023.

The decision to extend Yaron's time in charge of the central bank will be brought for a cabinet vote at its next meeting.
