Kremlin on Pope's interview: Russia has repeatedly said it is ready for talks

President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly said that Russia is ready for talks to resolve the Ukraine crisis, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday, commenting on a call by Pope Francis for Ukraine to enter negotiations.

Ukraine has rebuffed the pope's call for it to show what he called the courage of the "white flag" and negotiate an end to the two-year war.
